Mark Thek – Directing Operations at Esterline Power Systems
Mark Thek, a business leader based in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, is the president of Esterline Power Systems. From his office in Los Angeles, Mark Thek oversees the company’s design and manufacture of electrical power distribution systems for aerospace and rail commercial clients and the military. He also supervises the company’s marketing, sales, finance, and engineering functions.
Since taking on the role of president in 1995, Mark Thek has steadily grown the company into a renowned global electrical systems manufacturer. The company has about 3,000 employees working in facilities in the United States, Mexico, France, China, and India. He also expanded the company’s product lines, developing electric systems that support aerospace companies and switching technologies that work in severe environments such as extreme heat.
Before Esterline Power Systems, Mark Thek was president of Leach International. However, Esterline acquired the company in 1995.
Mr. Thek previously worked as a physicist and engineering director at Hughes Aircraft Company. He designed and developed advanced microwave and radar products for military and space applications. The products included microwave amplifiers for F-15, F-14, and F-18 fighter jets.
Away from work, Mr. Thek enjoys physics, mathematics, surfing, and snowboarding. He's also the author of “Quantification of Human Emotion.”
